Two great Summer Reading Challenges to choose from!

Summer holidays are a great time to catch up on all of the books you’ve wanted to read this year and discover some new ones, and there are two different reading challenges to motivate you to read even more.

We are excited that Wellington City Libraries are running their Summer Reading Adventure again. Sign up as a family, log every book you read and audio book you listen to, and you will add to the community goal and win prizes along the way. And of course you will get to read some brilliant books to tell us all about when we come back to school in February. There are other activities to complete if you feel like it, and points for visiting other places around Wellington. I’ve already signed up for the adult version and I’ll let you know how I get on.

Click on this link here to sign up and start reading! And of course, don’t forget, when they ask which school you go to, click on Seatoun School in case there’s a leaderboard we want to sit on top of!

Read NZ have also launched a reading challenge which has a feathery focus! This one is similar, you sign up as a family and then log the books you read and libraries you visit. You also choose a bird to be on the team of and every book you read adds to your team’s totals.

This starts on Monday 12th December and runs through until the end of January. There will be quizzes and other activities running alongside, so head to their website to find out more.
